SSAB Sweden invests $74 million to increase heat treatment capacity in Alabama

Swedish specialty steels producer SSAB announced plans to invest around $ 74 million to expand its heat treatment capacity at its plant in the US state of Alabama . The move will allow SSAB to strengthen its position in the US market and offer American customers higher – quality products .​​​​​


Project details :

  • This investment includes the construction of an advanced tempering furnace and improvements to the factory ‘s infrastructure .
  • This will allow SSAB to increase production of wear – resistant and high – strength steels such as Hardox and Strenx .​ ​ ​
